A unique event uniting the worlds of art, gastronomy, tourism, and agriculture.

The Iberian Pork Parade is an initiative from regional newspaper HOY: an open-air, urban exhibition, with sculptures of Iberian pigs displayed around city centres, all decorated by contemporary Extremaduran artists.

"El Cerdo Universal"

A beautiful tribute to the Iberian pig.

Eduardo Naranjo, a famous painter from Monesterio, took on the Monesterio Town Council sponsored project to paint the sculpture. In doing so, he hoped not only to show support for his home town, but also to promote the Iberian pork sector which is of vital importance to the area.

The Council agreed that once the sculpture had finished the Iberian Pork Parade exhibition it would be given its own permanent space at the Monesterio Jamón Museum.
